Each box is its own little world, shaped by mood, story, and intention. And because I believe in transparency, community, and celebrating creators behind the magic, I wanted to take you behind the scenes of how a Seasonal Spoils box comes to life.

Before Quill chooses a book or a single trinket, he sits with the season. What does it feel like? What colours belong to it? What emotions does it stir in the tiny dragon?

One of the core missions of Tales and Trinkets is to uplift indie authors. No gatekeeping, no waiting for a big publisher to decide their worth. Just powerful storytelling from writers who pour their whole heart into their craft.

For Autumn 2026 and our debut seasonal box, Quill was absolutely dragon-static when he stumbled upon Charlize K Kelly and her paranormal, atmospheric, dark romance novel, Shadows of the Night. Charlize's writing is immersive, emotional, and beautifully suited to the moody, slow-burn vibe of this Seasonal Spoils edition.

Partnering with Australian Makers

Every item in a Seasonal Spoils box is chosen with care, not as a filler, not as 'just something to add', but as part of the experience.

Moving forward, one of our biggest hopes is to collaborate with Australian small businesses (so if you're an Aussie small business and would love to have some samples or your products featured in a seasonal box, please reach out!). We want to build real connections, uplift local makers, and weave their artistry into future boxes. There's so much talent across Australia, and we'd love for Seasonal Spoils to become a place where Aussie businesses can shine.
